What Is Yoga Therapy?

Yoga therapy is a holistic approach to healing that extends beyond physical exercise. It involves the use of various aspects of yoga, including concentrated breathing, emotional stability, and mindfulness techniques. These aspects of yoga help individuals develop healthier coping mechanisms and emotional regulation. Yoga aims to integrate mind and body, fostering mental well-being and personal emotional management. Our qualified yoga therapists customize sessions to meet the specific needs of each participant.

How Does Yoga Therapy for Addiction Recovery Work?

Yoga therapy for addiction recovery focuses on reducing stress levels and improving cognitive function. Through regular practice, individuals can experience a reduction in negative emotions and enhanced emotional resilience. Breathing techniques and physical exercises used in yoga offer physical benefits, such as improved cardiovascular health and increased energy levels. Furthermore, yoga practices promote emotional healing by helping individuals control impulses and regulate personal emotions.

What Does Our Yoga Therapy for Addiction Treatment Involve?

Partial Care Program (PHP)

In our partial care program, clients participate in yoga sessions as part of their structured curriculum. Scheduled Monday through Friday, these sessions include Vinyasa Yoga, meditation, and breathing exercises. This intensive program provides a balanced approach to addiction recovery. Yoga practices are integrated with other therapeutic approaches like individual therapy and group sessions.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Our intensive outpatient program also includes yoga therapy. Clients attend yoga classes three to five times per week, tailored to fit their schedules. Evening sessions are available to accommodate busy lifestyles. The therapy program focuses on mindfulness techniques, physical exercise, and stress reduction. This helps in managing triggers and promotes emotional stability.

Outpatient Program (OP)

The outpatient program offers yoga once or twice a week. These sessions continue to provide therapeutic benefits as clients transition to a more independent life. Yoga therapy focuses on maintaining physical health, emotional regulation, and mental well-being. The practice of yoga helps clients develop healthier coping mechanisms for stress and triggers.

Family Program

Yoga therapy is not limited to clients alone. The family program at BlueCrest Recovery Center includes yoga sessions for loved ones. This helps family members manage their stress levels and emotional concerns. Family yoga sessions promote emotional healing and improve the overall quality of life. These sessions encourage family members to take a more active role in the recovery process.

Alumni Services

Clients who complete a therapy program are encouraged to continue regular practice through our alumni services. This includes ongoing access to yoga classes and community-based yoga events. The benefits of yoga include improved mental resilience and emotional stability. Alumni services aim to support long-term recovery through sustained practice.
