WHY 12-STEP AND EVIDENCE-BASED?
BlueCrest recognizes that treatment is a necessary component of recovery and incorporates the most current and effective practices into our program. We also recognize that no treatment is complete and sobriety cannot be maintained without full participation in a 12-step recovery program. While utilizing all of BlueCrest’s treatment modalities to heal the Mind, Body and Spirit, clients learn the tenets of 12-step recovery as they begin to attend and participate in their local meetings. Having successfully completed treatment, clients will utilize the 12-step network they have built in treatment to guide them through their journey of sobriety.
Chronic use of alcohol and other drugs alters neurotransmission and essentially “rewires” the brain. Additionally, those suffering from substance use disorders often have experienced trauma, grief, and loss and suffer from co-occurring mental health disorders. To successfully treat the complexity of biological, psychological and social factors that fuel addiction, sound evidence-based practice is indispensable. BlueCrest’s team of licensed, skilled, experienced clinicians are proficient in the most successful therapies for the treatment of substance abuse and mental health disorders.
Anyone who has maintained long-term sobriety from alcohol and drugs is well aware of the spiritual component of addiction. Substance abusers, without exception, have an overwhelming feeling of loneliness and emptiness that they attempt to mask with their use. Lasting and meaningful recovery can only be accomplished with spiritual nourishment and finding a purpose. Almost all medical and psychological treatments for addictive disorders omit the spiritual malady that accompanies chronic substance abuse. By fully acknowledging and making spiritual growth a part of our program, BlueCrest emphasizes and addresses a key component of treatment that is often overlooked.
Abuse of alcohol and drugs can have a devastating impact on the human body. As a result, clients often enter treatment with health problems, in poor physical condition and with an inability to regulate their bodies to cope with anxiety and stress. BlueCrest has an on-site medical staff that assesses every client for medical concerns and ensures they receive proper treatment. We encourage exercise and wellness practices and teach mindfulness techniques to cope with anxiety and stress. We offer an Eastern Meditation curriculum that incorporates meditation and yoga into a client’s regular treatment schedule. BlueCrest knows that a healthy body and a peaceful mind are a foundation for recovery.
We use evidenced-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). We believe in strengths-based, solution-focused treatment and rely heavily on proven communication techniques like Motivational Interviewing.

Creative experiences like art and music therapy help clients process their emotions, make deeper spiritual connections, and reduce anxiety and stress levels.
