Donna is a Licensed Social Worker in the state of New Jersey. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Bloomfield College and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Rutgers University. Donna came to social services later in life, due to feeling unfulfilled in corporate America and facing her own personal crises. Leaving Corporate America behind, in 2006 Donna began working with mentally ill adults as a clinical case manager in the non-profit sector. Donna’s professional experience comes from a myriad of treatment settings such as: supportive housing, homeless outreach, partial care, and crisis center programs. While working in these various settings, Donna learned much about addiction and recovery as many of her clients were not only mentally ill but also had substance abuse problems.
Understanding what it’s like to feel vulnerable, Donna has always worked hard to foster a strong therapeutic alliance with her clients by meeting them where they are at. Donna also uses a person-centered approach and motivational interviewing techniques to help her clients uncover natural abilities and hidden strengths. Finally, Donna understands that everyone is an individual and tailors her treatment approach to match each client’s individual needs.
