At BlueCrest Recovery, we’re lucky to have a supportive recovery community that is here to help. That’s why BlueCrest CEO Richard Hession appeared on New York’s Pix11 News to discuss the strategies that are working for our community to get through Covid-19 stress.

Here are a few tips Richard recommended:

  • Get counseling. Most insurance providers will cover addiction treatment and mental health support during this stressful time.
  • Don’t neglect your mental health. If you’re feeling symptoms of stress, anxiety, or depression, don’t ignore them. Reach out to a mental health or addiction treatment provider for help.
  • Alcohol and drugs don’t relieve stress. They make it worse. We might think a drink or a dose will “take the edge off” pain, anxiety, or stress. In fact, addictive substances only magnify an already difficult situation.
